Can we try to write everything without all the Yiddish? not everyone here is so frimmy and understands it.
Some things sound better in Yiddish. Other things sound better in sign language.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

What if the $600 shoes last  6 times as long as the $100 shoe?

They don't.
If you don't care why would you comment?

Is that with exchanging then every few months because they "got a little rubbed out"?!

Fugly shoes for $595.

Also:

Ferragamo at ~$350+... Not much of a deal IMHO

I've been forever ruined by:

Filene's @ 79th, just got a pair of Ferragamo shoes for $50

For the record, every pair of Ecco's I ever owned lasted way longer than these Ferragamos.

The only ferragamos worth getting are from the Tramezza line. And even those rose too much in price to be worth it.

Man, you're gonna mach zich nisht visindik aren't you. I tried to be subtle but you wanna play the game. Alright. I apologize beforehand because what's about to come out is gonna look like a flame. But I assure you, my dear brother, that this is not what I intended when I started this conversation. You just had to push... Oh dear. Here it comes...

Unless you have some bizarre foot ailment where your podiatrist has to prescribe you special orthopedic shoes where they actually take a mold of your foot to make it, rachmana litzlan, then there is absolutely no practical reason why shoes should cost SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS (even though one poster thought it was cool to say that he knows "many people" who have $600 shoes and you seemed to be happy to be one of them.) It's poshut vanity and it's a shod af yiddishe gelt and it goes into the same category as champaign enemas and Yankees tickets.

But to be melamed z'chus, I am impressed that you wanted to be mekayem k'pshuto the Gemara "l'olam yimkor adam koros beiso v'yikneh m'naalim l'raglav."

I gotta go drink some seltzer now.

Youre poshut a moron

Ferragamos last forever and a week.
I know someone that wore the same Ferragamos every Shabbos for at least ten years and they still looked great.

YMMV, might depend on how you wear shoes and which sub-brand of ferragamos.

LMAO if you think eccos are longer lasting than Ferragamos.
Additionally, IMHO, all eccos are usually ugly and plain at best.

He did take really good care of them.
Though I e found my pair for about $200, they are way more comfortable and longer lasting than other shoes I've bought.

LMAO you know how long someone else's shoes last. Now that's funny, did you stalk Asher for a while to know that?

Kinda creepy dude.

No problem if yours lasted a while and you like them, no need to bash someone else's style and tell them they don't know how long their shoes lasted.

I do agree that Freddie is wrong that people shouldn't spend money on nice shoes. If people have it use it and enjoy.

Don't you guys get bored of your shoes after a while? I hate when my shoes last longer than 2 years. 10 years?! Get out!

That's what Warren Buffet does. Mir zollen zein erger fun em?
Just his ranch and pickup he drives are moderate. Most of the rest of his lifestyle not so much (ie. Private jets)

Personally I buy shoes based on hiw long I'd think i'd like them for. The more time the more money I'd spend. Last year I went thru three pairs of shoes but spent less then $80 all together.
I'm not who you think I am.

Not really. I take pride and good care of mine. Some are 7+ years old (I've lost track).

My reply was aimed at the implication that eccos last longer than Ferragamos, which we all can agree  is generally untrue, I hope.

I never bashed his style, I wear shoes from both companies and therefore find the comparison laughable.

A. He owns the private jet company.
B. If your time was also worth $1,000,000/hour I sure hope you'd fly private too. It only makes economic sense.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I would argue that Buffett's value of money/frugality lead to him being rich.
I'm not surprised he continues to be frugal.

I would also add that it's not just frugality with Buffet... He probably doesn't feel the need to "strut his stuff" with flamboyant shoes like some sort of pimp. He knows his value and he's comfortable with that.
