I'd much rather support a party which agrees with me on 80% but get it done over one who agrees 110% but serves elitists and cronies.

I would generally agree, and would even put the threshold lower than 80%, which is how I ended up voting for Bloomberg despite the fact that I could never stand him or his policies. After a while it just became too much. You cannot overlook the ARROGANCE factor (which often goes hand in hand with כפירה and lots of left wing policies).

If it wouldn't be for my fear of the SCOTUS nominations, I would probably lean towards HRC in this election, despite all the policies I oppose!

However, in THIS election I think I would take the yoooge risk and vote for Trump, if I felt that my vote could make any difference. Being a NY voter, it will not, and I will sit this election out.

How's that for being able to annoy everyone out there? Bringing up SCOTUS again, and saying that HRC might be a better leader.

At a certain point you have to remember the following: ALL forms of government are inherently CORRUPT so they will ALL serve up to cronies to one extent or another. The only form of government that has the POTENTIAL (but no guarantee, as history has shown) of not being corrupt is a מלך מבית דוד, simply because that is a G-d given right (and duty - as pointed out by Shmuel to Shoul, who was also appointed by G-d).

We don't know who will nominate or what could happen in congress (I was suprised that the Rs were able to get away with blocking Garland).

So why don't you give us an example of who he might nominate, and how bad that might be, rather than another Sotomayor, RBG, Kagan and their ilk, which is what we will get from HRC. Also, I will go on a limb and state that if HRC gets elected, RBG retires within the next 3 years, just to guarantee a successor to her liking. We don't know what happens if Trump gets elected, but IMHO this is a clear case of ברי ושמא - שמא עדיף!

Tump is indeed a NY liberal, and so is Bloomberg.

Now how do we shift this conversation to good Schmaltz Herring?

I believe that there are more mainstream Republicans that will not vote for Trump than there are Leftist Democrats who will not vote for Hillary. If Hillary moves more right, she will attract many of these mainstream Republicans, and will probably only lose a small number of hardcore Bernie Leftists.

Here is what I think Hillary can do:

1. Keep silent on social justice issues. Stop taking sides with BLM or LGBT rights or whatever. Stop mentioning it altogether. There is nothing that irks Conservatives more than social justice pandering. People are sick of it.

2. Strongly indicate that she will not appoint a Supreme Court Justice who leans Left. Float names that Conservatives are comfortable with.

3. Speak out strongly against radical Islam, ISIS, and how she plans on eliminating the threat of terrorism using force.

4. Do a complete 180 on her immigration stance. Strongly limit immigration, and strengthen border security.

I believe if she does these things, she is guaranteed to be the next president.

It's actually all about DW. She makes the Cholent, and she won't allow Herring at home. When I take my kids to a farbrengen or kiddush, she won't let them come close to her until they was hands and face with soap....

And while I can easily indulge on the onions, I would never consider it without fish (and I don't touch anything that has a drop of sugar or sweetness to it - ugh...)

And even though we are not פוילישערס I can really appreciate ואת כל דגי הים בידכם נתנו when it comes to Lakerda and some other good stuff....

The GOP is broken. A landslide loss in November, and there could be a legitimate threat of a new conservative party. *That* could shake up the gop enough to restructure into a more conservative, inclusive party. Yes, it would take years. More than 4, probably more than 8. But as long as the party remains Trumpist, they stand no chance.

But I agree, an actual viable third party? Not gonna happen, unless the dems have a breakaway progressive party.

Dont dream about a landslide in Nov as some try to make you believe. Or "used" to make you believe. Even though I am afraid that at the end of the day Hillary will make it.  It will still be very close.
