We don't have a revenue problem, the federal government gets more than enough revenue. We have a spending problem.

The solution to the government taking too much money, is to allow the people to keep their money and decide where to spend it.

The solution to a spending problem is NOT to spend more money.

You can say that and I don't have a problem with it. The fact is you don't get a balance budget by adding debt to it. We can freeze spending and give tax cuts every year. All that will do is give us more debt. It is simple math.

I would love to cut taxes AND spending until the point where we have a very limited government with a balanced budget.

I would love to play in the NHL. That is not going to happen either.
If you want a very limted government you are going to have to move. In the meantime simple math will tell you will never get a balanced budget by adding 2t debt.

I want to get as far as possible in both of those directions, therefore I am very happy to have a tax cut and I would be much happier if we can also have a budget cut.

The budget could have passed without a single Dem vote and contrary to the claims of some here did not even require a rules change.Somehow the same people who were all busy about how the tax bill needs to fit into Budget Reconciliation forgot that you can use Budget Reconciliation for, yes, the BUDGET! Any blame for this bill falls squarely on the Rs and especially on the top of the totem pole who was notably ABSENT from the entire process. Don't kid yourselves. I support many of Trumps policies notwithstanding his being a lowlife. On the other hand, controling spending is clearly NOT one of his priorities. Be honest with yourselves.
