Why are you nit picking at 1 word in parentheses? Why don't we discuss the rest of what I said? I am not an expert at this and even the experts are usually way off, so I have no way of knowing if it will in fact add 1.5T to the debt or not, but it is definitely a plausible possibility that it won't.

To have an honest discussion you need to agree on basic facts. I guess we need to go back to if the tax bill adds 1.5t to the debt. Didn't know this was in dispute.

It always was up for debate, I'm not saying that it won't because I don't know and neither does anyone else, but I won't either say that it will.

There is ample evidence in both directions for everyone to cherrypick, especially with expert cherrypickers like we have on DDF. The truth is most likely somewhere in the middle where some but not nearly all gets offset by revenue growth but nearly all. On the other hand, one provision in the tax bill which some are ignoring is how the repatriation change has led to $38b from just one company.

This makes part of @ChaimMoskowitz 's argument. The Rs can't have it both ways cutting taxes and raising spending. That is much less responsible than the Dems raising taxes along with spending.
