I think everyone agrees that it was intended to exclude native americans, diplomats, and soldiers from abroad fighting on American land. The question is if it also excludes illegal aliens.

If an illegal aliens commits a murder in the US are they subjected to our laws?

Yes, and I would think that a native american who committed murder would also have been subjected to our laws. I'm not going to get into a discussion about which side is right, because I don't know. All I'm saying is that it's something that is debated and the one to resolve this debate would be SCOTUS.

How often do you see the leadership on the left blast their own? It's actually is one of the reasons why Trump has not been able to do more over the past two years. The left usually stick together and back each other no matter what (which is often a good thing for them that ends up working in their favor and allows them to move ahead with their agenda) while the right will disagree with each other (which is good in the sense that they are free-thinkers and do what they actually think is right and not just follow the pack but is bad the for overall Republican party).
Of course you'll bring a few examples of where this was not the case but overall this one huge difference between the 2 parties.

If it's not excluding anyone, they could have left that phrase out entirely. The phrase about being "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" means SOMETHING - the question is what, exactly. Personally, I would assume it means not just that they can now be taken to court for crimes, but that they voluntarily accept the jurisdiction. The debates during the creation of the amendment mention the concept of “not owing allegiance to anybody else and being subject to the complete jurisdiction of the United States.” That implies some basic level of allegiance.

I would say that involves ACCEPTING the laws of the country. Can you do that while simultaneously entering the country illegally? We call that a "stira minei u'bei."

It already excludes children born to diplomats and NA (requiring a separate act of Congress in 1924 to reinclude them), as decided by SCOTUS. The question that has never been put to SCOTUS is whether the exclusion is broader than that. But you can't say the other interpretation just be won't because that line doesn't exclude anything - it does.
