Of course there is antisemitism on the left. Of course the progressives can be just as bad, or worse, than the right wing nut jobs. But one candidate ran with a campaign manager who is a self described member of the alt right, which is so riddled with white nationalists, it's impossible to separate the two. He has also refused to separate himself from those in his movement he admits are foul, hateful people, or even denounce them. He was then hired to one of the most senior positions in the White House.

I understand voting for Trump over Hilary. I don't agree with it, but I understand it. What sickens me is the whitewashing, denial and overt racism in this in this thread.

Meanwhile, the other candidate ran with Huma Abedin, with connections to Saudi Arabia and the Muslim Brotherhood (according to the right-wing media).

There is no whitewashing or denial, and there is certainly no overt racism on this thread. You choose to see what you want. Who the hell is overtly racist on this thread? Do you think hurling these accusations will make your argument more legitimate? Heck, is George Soros paying you to troll the DDF?

If I were to believe every loony theory the right-wing media put out about HUSSAIN Obama, then Obama is part of a planted cell of Al-Queda, strategically placed into the White House to destroy America from within.

The alt-right was hijacked by neo-nazis and White nationalists. Steve Bannon had no part in that, unless you can prove otherwise. Until then, I'm sticking to the facts, and the facts show that he ran a pro-Israel website for four years. (I bet that was just for show and that really he is a nazi, right?)

Very interesting. They bussed in people to WI to fight against Walker and his "right to work" laws and failed, now they feel they need to bus people from WI to Chicago.

Isn't Gingrich himself an anti-Semite? He's using anti-Semitic stereotypes (Wall Street and Hollywood) in his defense of Trump. At least we can say it takes one to know one, so if Newt says Trump ain't an anti-Semite, he must know what he's talking about.

Apparently, everyone is either a racist or an anti-Semite. I guess actions speak louder than words. Nixon was a nasty anti-Semite that arguably saved Israel in 1973. Al Sharpton incited race riots that got people killed. Obama being buddies with Al Sharpton is a lot more disconcerting than Steve Bannon's alleged anti-Semitism.

I noticed that as well, and I'm wondering why people are so focused on the commentary and demonstrators and not on what Trump/Hillary/Obama have said since it was called.

Because the media won't stop creating hysteria and telling people that Trump means the end of the world.

But I'm wondering:
1. Did Trump change his tone to sound more presidential, or is he the same outspoken maniac (for lack of a better word) being subdued by his advisers?
2. Was the vitriolic campaign rhetoric just a ploy to appeal to the uneducated white working-class demographic he was targeting?

Time will tell, but if it was all an act and the Trump in his acceptance speech and 60 Minutes interview is the real Donald Trump (pun intended), then he's a master actor who conned his way into the White House.

Trump is a foul-mouthed first class jerk. But a jerk who, people believe, truly wants to better this country and not just add "president" to his title. Trump is a novelty in politics who doesn't play by the formal rules of presidential demeanor. He says exactly what he thinks out in the open. It scares people like me, but maybe I just get scared easy...

I posted a few incidents above. Here's *one* Twitter thread counting incidents - many of those have pictures and video. (Note, the fake hijab incident, and the fake blackface incident are not included - the ones mentioned are in different states.)

Here's a ADL report just counting Aug 2015 to July 2016, ask the journos on the top of that list - it's gotten worse.

Here's one small time personality who herself face *thousands* of hateful incidents.

Here's a list that includes violence against Trump supporters.

The thing is, I didn't even do any research for this - this is all of the top of my head from stuff I have seen over the past few months. If I spent any significant amount of time, I could dig up articles from every major news outlet with dozens of incidents in the past couple of days, confirmed by police forces and with videos and pictures.

You dismissed one link because it was from Mother Jones - I only brought that link for the quote from Bannon himself. Breitbart is an alt right platform, as per Bannon. Alt Right is (barely) re-branded white nationalism. This story is a great (long) read in its own right, but almost as an aside you can see how the likes of the KKK envisioned a diluted version of their ideology to become mainstreamed, and how they are exulting in its success in Donald Trump.

If he told a specific woman that she is a fat pig, then yes, he meant what he said.

The "grab them by the..." line was actually one of the things he said in private.
