Thread summary:

Trump walks in a room.

1. Moshe123 shoots at him because he is pure evil, 2. ilherman+hachover jump in front of the bullets because Trump is our savior. 3. aygart tackles Moshe123 because Trump is better than HRC, 4. but Baruch can't stand Trump so he tells aygart he's crazy and Trump is a madman. 5. ExGingi would like to point out that who cares what he is, all that matters is the supreme court nominations. 6. Dan and others aren't really sure how this makes them feel plus they don't really want to drink poison. 7. Spoiler alert: Moshe123's gun was empty, it was just a blank.

And Freddie is in the back of the room just cooking his cholent. Until he announces that there are TWO menu choices, Pareve Cholent or Vegetable Lasagna. While etech0 figured out that they are both poisoned.

Repeat x100.

And then Hilary walks into the room with the most confidence a candidate has had in recent history. She is so confident that she eats both the Pareve Cholent and Vegetable Lasagna. Everyone is the room is aghast, they don't know how this happened, could it be Comey is behind this poisoning or was it that her Obamacare premiums were to high to get her the help she needed.

Everyone stared as she choked and was cast into oblivion on November, 8, 2016 the last day she was heard from in the public eye.

Moshe123, ilherman, hachover, Baruch, ExGingi, Dan, Freddie, etech0, and the rest of America are in total shock and hope that so long as Trump doesn't eat any Pareve Cholent and Vegetable Lasagna and stays true to his supreme court nominees this may be the greatest thing to happen since the CSR and GC's.

But remember this may be the beginning of the end...

P.S. Thanks to cognitive dissonance aygart, Michael Moore, and Scott Adams knew the whole time that Trump could win, unfortunately for JTZ he may be off DDF for the next 4 years due to his mandatory 3 times daily consumption of CROW!

As things turns out, the most prescient view on this election was that of Michael Moore! Though Scott Adams is also claiming a high view level of prescience.

It says something about a person when he gets engaged at age 58 to a nude model 24 years his junior.
Is it the model part you have a problem with?
"LESS IS MORE" It is the cumulative effect that kills deals!!! How many times do I have to say this?  >:(

Did I miss something not in that clip? I saw nothing about black or white rather western vs muslim etc. He happens to be wrong. Either way what does that have to do with Trump anyhow?

Yes. Giyf. Though that's not really my point. I'll try to elaborate when I get to a computer.

Definitely not the only thing

I'm not Trump fan but half these things are nothing close to newsworthy or even worthy of being tweeted.

They're both all for power, money, and fame. They're both compulsive liars. They're both criminals.
Trump seems to bring out the worst elements of society with his racist remarks and that's what scares me. Her agenda scares me as well.
I flip flop daily on what I'll do come November.
Just think about SCOTUS nominations before you go to vote. That should help you flip one way and not the other.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Let me clarify, and put this in context. Way earlier today someone said that if the only criticism being discussed is the plagiarising it's an indicator everything else went well. I am very apolitical in this particular election, but I had happened to have just been scrolling through my twitter feed and seen a host of other issues being discussed, as well as a list put out by a fairly popular twitter personality. as such I responded that there are other issues being discussed, and I plagiarised his list.I wasn't endorsing or supporting it, just responding to the specific comment. Can we move on now?

We didn't succeed in convincing republican voters not to vote for a conman. According to the polls, we did succeed in convincing America as a whole.

Here's the full conversation:
Quote from: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/07/18/rep-steve-king-wonders-what-sub-groups-besides-whites-made-contributions-to-civilization/
The group, led by Chris Hayes, was discussing the first day of the Republican national convention and Donald Trump's history of racially-loaded comments and behavior. King told Hayes that he thought Trump had "modified" his behavior in that regard, but Esquire's Charlie Pierce said he didn't see much diversity reflected in the gathering itself.

"If you're really optimistic, you can say that this is the last time that old white people will command the Republican Party's attention, its platform, its public face," Pierce said. "That hall is wired," he continued. "That hall is wired by loud, unhappy, dissatisfied white people."

King objected.

"This 'old white people' business does get a little tired, Charlie," King said. "I'd ask you to go back through history and figure out, where are these contributions that have been made by these other categories of people that you're talking about, where did any other subgroup of people contribute more to civilization?"

"Than white people?" Hayes asked, clearly amazed.

"Than, than Western civilization itself," King replied. "It's rooted in Western Europe, Eastern Europe and the United States of America and every place where the footprint of Christianity settled the world. That's all of Western civilization."
Slightly more complete version of the video here: http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2016/07/18/republican_congressman_steve_king_criticizes_nonwhite_races_for_failing.html

That's what you hear right at the beginning of the youtube clip posted above - "This 'old white people' business...". He only switched gears to start talking about western civilization (and then specifying Europe/US and Christianity specifically, as if that has anything to do with it or makes it any better) when he saw HAyes asked 'Than white people?' incredulously, and the panel members were all giving him horrified looks.

The guy has already had several other controversies that provide context for this comment as well. It's pretty clear what he meant.

Having said all that, I agree on a micro level that King's comments shouldn't matter to Trump's viability as a candidate. But on a macro level, and I've said this before (I think it was with the Hillary/Jewish star tweet), it's very unsettling to see the types of people that seem to make up the foundation of his support, and especially Trump's handling (or lack thereof) of those voices. I live in NY and most likely will not bother voting, so don't take this to mean that I'm pro-Hillary or pro-Trump. But if you feel that the only thing that matter is SCOTUS, then every time someone 'attacks' Trump, just say "doesn't matter, SCOTUS" and leave it at that. No need for to play twister defending all the crazy things he does, defenses which I feel like you yourself don't even believe half the time. Better yet, explain coherently why SCOTUS matters above all else (and/or why nothing else matters) and why you think Trump is the better choice from that perspective.

Was driving for a couple of hours, so I got quite a bit of Christie and of Donald Jr.

I must say that Christie's speech would have been better (to paraphrase Paul Ryan) on "mute". Is fighting a dictator regime bad (Ghaddafi) or good (Assad)? There's enough out there against her that one doesn't have to take sides in such a complex situation (especially since it's history). And calling Putin a dictator?

OTOH I thought Trump Jr. was a great speech which hit excellent chords. I honestly think that if this campaign uses Trump Jr's themes as the pro Trump, and just keep on putting up Bader-Ginsburg as the reason not to vote for HRC (I think that could sway many independents that might see the threat to our democracy and checks and balances system), Trump actually might have a very good chance in November.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
