What is this supposed to be? It can't be based on population, it would be totally off beyond the largest 4 (and even those aren't quite right).

Quite dizzying, but it seems to me that if all states awarded electors like ME does, it might have been a DJT landslide. (and even though the R vote would have been drowned out in my district, I think I would have actually voted if electors were on a district by district basis).

Wasn't really trying to make a comment about popular vs electoral with that link. The one's that were most interesting to me were the last 2. The one showing by results by county, with color gradation to account for how large the margin of victory was in each location - but no accounting for voter population. And the one next to it that warps the map to account for population.

The meat of the article: "Larry Noble of the Campaign Legal Center said the FEC letter is fairly routine" and "The FEC dinged the Sanders campaign in May for the same problem."

The way the headline should read: Trump, Sanders Campaigns Receive Fairly Routine FEC Letters

which of course is no headline at all...

which makes you wonder why this is on CNN's front page...

i don't think it's wrong and it isn;t wrong because it's not illegal
Just like proper tax planning (and bad investments) will get you a $900million NOL that you can use to offset your tax bill
