His speech was seen and approved by the Trump campaign. Besides miraculously having a candidate worse than Hilary, they are running a clown show of an operation, and allowed themselves to be upstaged every night of the campaign.

It is not as if Trump did anything at all to try and reconcile with Cruz. Cruz should not have spoken though and definitely should have left out the conscience part. Had he simply not made it a glaring omission and said things like vote against Hillary or the like he could have gotten away with it.

BTW Cruz was defeated but not quite decimated byt primary election standards.

He wasn't decimated in the primaries, but he just totally self destructed himself this evening.

I think if he would have played things right he might have ended as solicitor general, or something else in the justice department. He just proved to the entire world, that no matter how well principled and articulated his message is, he is simply unlikable, and more importantly NOT A TEAM PLAYER!

He said he would not endorse.

The "vote your conscious" line, along with the rest of the speech was seen and approved by Trump.

Many reports that he even told Trump face to face he would not endorse.

Trump allows Cruz to upstage his own convention.

Trump and his surrogates are now pretending to be shocked and angry.

Please.

Cruz has positioned himself perfectly for the post November gop collapse, when the Rubios will be left to try pretend they didn't endorse Trump.

And I was not a Cruz fan. I was a Rubio fan till he endorsed a guy he said repeatedly is not fit to be president.

Check Trump's twitter feed. He acknowledged that he knew before and said it was OK.
