Thread summary:

Trump walks in a room.

1. Moshe123 shoots at him because he is pure evil, 2. ilherman+hachover jump in front of the bullets because Trump is our savior. 3. aygart tackles Moshe123 because Trump is better than HRC, 4. but Baruch can't stand Trump so he tells aygart he's crazy and Trump is a madman. 5. ExGingi would like to point out that who cares what he is, all that matters is the supreme court nominations. 6. Dan and others aren't really sure how this makes them feel plus they don't really want to drink poison. 7. Spoiler alert: Moshe123's gun was empty, it was just a blank.

And Freddie is in the back of the room just cooking his cholent. Until he announces that there are TWO menu choices, Pareve Cholent or Vegetable Lasagna. While etech0 figured out that they are both poisoned.

Repeat x100.

And then Hilary walks into the room with the most confidence a candidate has had in recent history. She is so confident that she eats both the Pareve Cholent and Vegetable Lasagna. Everyone is the room is aghast, they don't know how this happened, could it be Comey is behind this poisoning or was it that her Obamacare premiums were to high to get her the help she needed.

Everyone stared as she choked and was cast into oblivion on November, 8, 2016 the last day she was heard from in the public eye.

Moshe123, ilherman, hachover, Baruch, ExGingi, Dan, Freddie, etech0, and the rest of America are in total shock and hope that so long as Trump doesn't eat any Pareve Cholent and Vegetable Lasagna and stays true to his supreme court nominees this may be the greatest thing to happen since the CSR and GC's.

But remember this may be the beginning of the end...

P.S. Thanks to cognitive dissonance aygart, Michael Moore, and Scott Adams knew the whole time that Trump could win, unfortunately for JTZ he may be off DDF for the next 4 years due to his mandatory 3 times daily consumption of CROW!

As things turns out, the most prescient view on this election was that of Michael Moore! Though Scott Adams is also claiming a high view level of prescience.

Thought I saw it in an article, but can't find it, so I may have been wrong.
You saw it but it was Trump not Lewis.  :)

Even someone who doesn't necessarily like Trump can think it's ridiculous to boycott his inauguration when he was democratically elected.
Anyone who boycotts the inauguration is wrong.

Trump definitely has his share of dumb comments and references to conspiracy theories, but that doesn't mean nobody else does either
all I did was ask why not

If that president elect doesn't understand the significance of attacking a civil rights icon right before MLK day then he should keep his mouth shut.

He understands very well. He's slaying all the sacred cows.

Not sure if he's looking for opportunities to do that, but he certainly doesn't seem to mind doing so, even if his response was spontaneous to respond to what he felt was an insult

+1

And the people jumping up and down saying "how dare he attack a civil rights icon"  are just driving people like me (who were #nevertrump) to support Trump (or at least oppose them more than I oppose him).

If the complaints would be about the specifics of what he said about Lewis, it might have worked better.

Even someone who doesn't necessarily like Trump can think it's ridiculous to boycott his inauguration when he was democratically elected. Hacking/leaking negative information about the other candidate doesn't make him illegitimate. The opposing candidates leak negative information all the time, some true, some not, and elections are still considered fair. Why should it matter if it was the Russians releasing the information?

Of course it doesn't matter. Once you bring substance into the discussion, silence ensues. The only way to get people worked up is to keep it vague "the Russians hacked and influenced the election" and hope people mislead themselves into thinking that Russia is suspected of changing the votes. In most cases, when people figure out that - at worst - we are talking about releasing conceqled information to the voting public, they don't seem all that bothered.
I'm an optimist; but only because life isn't going to give me any other good choices.

Just like Trump the Trumpsters just don't understand. The best way to explain it is the stupid comments I have made about Judaism because of my past ignorance. I think many here would agree those comments are far and few between if it at all now.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump%e2%80%99s-feud-with-john-lewis-prompts-outrage-among-blacks/ar-AAlTQHf?li=BBnb7Kz

The angry reaction is driven not only by Mr. Trump’s Twitter posts but what many blacks say they reveal about the president-elect’s lack of understanding of the reverence with which the civil rights movement, and its leaders, are viewed by African-Americans.

that could be, however being a hero doesn't give someone a free pass to disrespect the constitutional results of the election

It seems to me that there is something obvious that MSM including the Daily News and Rachel Maddow (upthread) are missing, perhaps wilfully.

Perhaps the reason the FBI didn't pursue Steele's allegations with the same vigour as they pursued the email scandal is for the simple reason that it was objectively clear that laws had been broken in the email scandal whereas there was no successful corroboration of Steel's claims.

Similar to his lack of understanding of the reverence Catholics have for the pope? He will counter attack any perceived attack no matter what reverence some view the attacker. He will not give a free pass just because someone is held in reverence. There are advantages to that.  Why does he need to cower in fear from responding to a stupid comment the guy made just because he was a civil rights leader? Why does his great work for civil rights give him a free pass to make stupid comments?

Good point. I never thought of it that way. But I think that in itself can be dangerous, if that because of that reverence they allow someone (Lewis) to go so far as to make statements such as he did, and be up in arms about anyone who counters them. There should be an understanding that no matter how much you respect someone, sometimes they may say something that you don't have to defend. (Same goes for trumpists btw)

As much as JTZ sometimes makes it seem otherwise there are numerous comments he has made that were not defended by anyone here.
