The fact that this thread gained so many posts after November 8, 2016, and there isn't even a new poll or updated Wiki (last I checked) just proves that

In the spirit of the Wiki, I will suggest, that as far as I am concerned, I couldn't care less how long this circus goes on for, as long as the following 3 things are accomplished on the domestic front:

• Good SCOTUS appointment(s).
• Repeal and provide good Replacement for Obamacare.
• Comprehensive, growth oriented, tax and regulation reform. (technically those are two issues, but I see them as intertwined)

Sure there are more things I would like to see, both on the foreign policy front, as well as the domestic front (including a commutation of SMR's sentence). Sure, DJT style is definitely not my style, and he wouldn't have been my first pick. But at this point he IS the POTUS. He has his style, it is extremely foreign to many of us, especially when trusted with the job of POTUS, but the bottom line is that it's the outcomes that count. If the outcomes are good, let the circus continue as long as it enables moving ahead on the outcomes.

The Role of our Orthodox Jewish Community in National Politics
 
 
We must impress on ourselves and our children that  the Jewish people are in
Golus (exile) and have wandered all over the world and have been subjected to
severe conditions and in the last century six million of us were killed by the
Nazis.
 
As the great Harav Hagaon Rabbi Moshe Feinstein writes that we must be
thankful to  the  United States of America a מלכות של חסד  ,a government of benevolence  for  letting us dwell in their midst and and   let us thrive in the teaching of our  Torah.and our traditions   He cautions us not to criticize or to
teach our children  to criticize our government. Our community must keep a low profile.


We should not follow the  media and the rabble rousers who treat our President with disdain.
It is not the appropriate for our community to be involved in national politics. Our media people or other people involved in public life should not do or say anything that causes a חילול השם
 
We must give the utmost respect to our government leaders especially to our
President. A president is an  emissary of G-d . I was fortunate to attend the inauguration and was able to make make the Blessing  ברוך שנתן מכבודו לבשר ודם  Blessed is G-d who gave from his glory to a human being
 
Our community must thank G-d for the election of our President Donald
Trump who is a true friend of the Jews and Eretz Yisroel and who has made it
his mission to bring peace to the Middle East so that Israel and its neighbors
should live together in peace and  harmony.
 
I conclude with the Brocho on behalf of our community and the people of
Eretz Yisroel to Jared Kushner to whom the President gave the historic mission to bring peace to the Middle East.

May G-d be with you and may you succeed in your mission, for anyone who toils for the community with true devotion, G-d will help him succceed.

What bothers me the most ablout Turx's question has nothing to do with Trump's response.

Every time I hear a Mexican accent (Jorge Ramos for example) during press briefings or a townhall, I always know that the question will be about a Mexican (mainly immigration) issue.

And it bothers me every time.

You're American! Why can't the question ever be about something that affects all Americans. And it pisses me off every time.

Many Americans (I believe) were the same pissed of when a Jewish reporter asks an antisemitism question.

Why is it always Jewish issues bothering you. Why not issues that affect all Americans!

The MSN will ask those other questions. He's there to sell more magazines. If he asks the same questions as the MSN, why would I buyhis magazine when I could listen to the news for free? It's all about $$$.
And btw there are many non-jews (probably many more than Jews) that are concerned about anti-Semitism, for a variety of reasons.
