This is the first possible sign of smoke. Even this isn't even a fraction of what the media made this story to be. This does not even come close to proving "real news" of what they were saying, noly that there was some communication between the campaign and a Russian. That is by no means pretty, but if you think it proves it to be real news you have been watching too much CNN. Even the conversation seems to have been a stupidity.

It is in Trump's interest for this to be "the smoking gun" because this is of little significance. It is only because CNN can now feel vindicated that they are even pushing this.

I have been watching FOX. The issue is for the past year Trump and everyone in his admin has said they had no contact with the Russians, AKA #fakenews. Now there is indisputable proof that was false. Even all the Trumpsters now understand that.

Nobody to this day can come up with a plausible reason why Trump would take the word of a dictator over our own intelligence agencies. Why he acts like Russia is our best friend. Can it be they have some dirt on him?

How is he acting like Russia is our best friend? He has been killing Russia with his energy policies. It is in our best interests to work with Russia on certain global issues like Syria and North Korea. This means it is worthwhile to keep some relationship with them. We are better off with the current relationship with Russia than what was under the previous administration or what would have been under Hillary where they would be influencing energy policy against our best interests while having poor relations with our government.

This is the big risk the Dems are taking with their non-stop push of this story when there has still been nothing of substance at all uncovered. This can mean that if something of substance does eventually come out it will be looked at as more of the same and they will be the boy who cried wolf.

The JR email and meeting is pretty solid. My opinion upthread was like yours, there was no evidence of Russiagate and the media was hounding what was essentially Trump's incompetence (which is awful for the country, but not illegal or scandalous). Now there are actual ties (as mentioned in the article I linked above, this is without any investigation, but simply leaks to the press). It's no longer a nothingburger.

It's true, "the media" is overdoing it about as as much as they under-report leftist scandals, but such is life.
