What's true is there is no law that requires the separation for crossing the border illegally. They have many options under our law but Trump has chosen to take the most severe and cruel route. Then he blames the D's and says the law requires it. The idiots then believe it because he said it.

I don't disagree with that, but if migrants are given the opportunity to simply go back and avoid the whole thing that changes the whole conversation drastically.

Our policies are abused. Trump is right about that. The issues are the ones that are trying to escape a lifetime of suffering. They come here for a better life for their children. Should I be a hypocrite and condemn them for the same thing I would do for my children?

I fully agree that the asylum system needs a major overhaul and we should make legal immigration MUCH more lenient. Illegal immigration by hundreds or thousands just coming for a buck is unhelpful to that cause. There needs to be some level of organization to it.

I am not disagreeing. The issue now is the separation is trying to be used as a deterrent to others. Very bad idea.
