I seem to remember that someone with a name somewhat related to yours, kept on saying upthread that SCOTUS nominations are what really matter in a presidential election.    Everything else is gravy. So far it seems like Gorsuch was a solid pick. The total opposite of Sotomayor.

Now we need to wait for the old witch to move out follow through on her threat and move to New Zealand, and we might have some real stability.

You have to be joking. Middle class workers owe every gain it has ever made to unions. I am no big union fan but you can't deny their accomplishments for the middle class and even all workers.

That might be historically true. But do they serve a purpose in today's day and age, or are they just a drag on the economy? Especially public unions, that suck everything out of politicians who know they won't be around when it's reckoning time.

Everything else a POTUS does is potentially reversible by the next congress/administration. SCOTUS nominations are lifetime nominations and matter for decades if not longer.

They are a necessary evil to keep the blood sucking businesses in check. Workers would get screwed in a heartbeat without the unions. It would be like throwing out the constitution and hope our representative do the right thing. You and I are both old enough to know that is fantasyland!
