The ability to scuttle with a vague allegation is also something which has far reaching effects. The only fair way is for this to be completed very quickly. What is preventing that more than anything is the lack of cooperation from Dems who want it to drag as long as possible and those who are toeing their line.

But the only reason I believe that it's a real problem here is that all the Ds want is to prolong it while the Rs want to rush it. It's not the point of accepting her point or not, it's about pushing it for after the midterms.

Yes. I do not feel that an accuser who has provided no details and refused to testify even to staffers at her attorney's office should be allowed to derail the nomination just by waiting to the last minute.
