Then it would be the very typical politician resolution. Someone pro-israel would make one condemning terrorism with a couple of vieled anti-palestinian lines. They always write something very broad so that it should cover a theme which really everyone agrees to and then stick in that one line to use it for the real purpose. Then they would frame it as a major BDS victory and how all those congressmen and women are prop-BDS. Come on, stop playing dumb. You know all thsi.

I am not playing dumb. It is clear what she wants but the resolution as written should be passed. We should all have the right to protest at home or abroad for injustices we see. I understand that just about everyone here feels the injustices she sees are not legit. The problem is her voice should not be silenced but challenged.

You have to be unbelievably dishonest (or stupid) to pretend like this is about anything other than BDS. Especially since she said so.

i think it's an accurate statement to say both of those things are awful. Trump's comments were racist, Omar has made several anti-Semitic comments. It's not deflecting to call both out

She also stated last week that the Palestinian struggle is non violent which would be hilarious if not for the thousands of murdered innocents.

She also stated this week she doesn't regret her anti Semitic comments in the same breath as saying she "always tries to tell people she apologized for them".

Also BDS is not the non-violent protest against "the occupation" her bill would suggest, it's a means to eradicate Israel entirely. It's on their website, it's not a secret.

Anyway, all this is to say nothing of Trump's comments or the "send her back" chants. I don't frequent this thread because it's not good for my sanity. But I will say to any Jewish people who try to twist themselves into pretzels excusing the chant, you can be sure the very people chanting that to her would do it with the same gusto to us Jews.

I am not disagreeing with you and I sure hope you don't think I am defending her anti-Semite comments. My point is the bill (resolution) as written is a good bill. It affirms the rights everyone should have. It seems the issue is how she is going to use those rights.
