Thread summary:

Trump walks in a room.

1. Moshe123 shoots at him because he is pure evil, 2. ilherman+hachover jump in front of the bullets because Trump is our savior. 3. aygart tackles Moshe123 because Trump is better than HRC, 4. but Baruch can't stand Trump so he tells aygart he's crazy and Trump is a madman. 5. ExGingi would like to point out that who cares what he is, all that matters is the supreme court nominations. 6. Dan and others aren't really sure how this makes them feel plus they don't really want to drink poison. 7. Spoiler alert: Moshe123's gun was empty, it was just a blank.

And Freddie is in the back of the room just cooking his cholent. Until he announces that there are TWO menu choices, Pareve Cholent or Vegetable Lasagna. While etech0 figured out that they are both poisoned.

Repeat x100.

And then Hilary walks into the room with the most confidence a candidate has had in recent history. She is so confident that she eats both the Pareve Cholent and Vegetable Lasagna. Everyone is the room is aghast, they don't know how this happened, could it be Comey is behind this poisoning or was it that her Obamacare premiums were to high to get her the help she needed.

Everyone stared as she choked and was cast into oblivion on November, 8, 2016 the last day she was heard from in the public eye.

Moshe123, ilherman, hachover, Baruch, ExGingi, Dan, Freddie, etech0, and the rest of America are in total shock and hope that so long as Trump doesn't eat any Pareve Cholent and Vegetable Lasagna and stays true to his supreme court nominees this may be the greatest thing to happen since the CSR and GC's.

But remember this may be the beginning of the end...

P.S. Thanks to cognitive dissonance aygart, Michael Moore, and Scott Adams knew the whole time that Trump could win, unfortunately for JTZ he may be off DDF for the next 4 years due to his mandatory 3 times daily consumption of CROW!

As things turns out, the most prescient view on this election was that of Michael Moore! Though Scott Adams is also claiming a high view level of prescience.

That would be me. Considering that there is no legal standard given anywhere that is what we are left with.
We have trial guidelines that they agreed to. Why not agree to a standard?

January 28, 2020 - 75% Of Voters Say Allow Witnesses In Senate Impeachment Trial
Source = FOX news reporting latest poll out today.
Support for witness testimony includes 49 percent of Republicans. WOW!!!

75%!!! The country understands why there must be witnesses. Why is it so hard for so many here to understand this?

So the argument ... is basically "most of the country is paying more attention to CNN headlines than to the actual proceedings / evidence?"

Quote from: https://apnews.com/42e3b7bcb60937c9d52679547fcc01a1
Online and on TV, interest has waned since the House launched impeachment hearings into Trump’s dealings with Ukraine.

The six major networks drew about 11.8 million viewers on the first day of the Senate trial, when lawmakers debated the rules and argued over documents and witnesses.

Combined viewership plummeted to fewer than 9 million people on the trial’s second day, when House Democrats began making their argument to remove Trump from office, according to Nielsen.

Not going to happen but lets say Trump was convicted. Could he go to the SCOTUS?
Precedent is that they wouldn't get involved.

They can potentially agree to standards if they wish, but that would be essentially equivalent to not having rules and how do you keep anyone to it.

Who is going to pay the bill?

The U.S. budget deficit is projected to swell past $1 trillion in 2020, according to a new report, as the government continues to spend more than it raises despite an economy that is growing steadily.

How does this work? Once they decide to call for witnesses, wont it drag out for months? Im
Sure Trump will try to block anyone from his administration so it would get dragged on and if he loses he could always appeal. So does that mean the Dem senators running for president would have to drop out?

I am guessing the trial would be on hold until SCOUTS decides. It should be fast tracked and maybe only take weeks. Trump is in a bad spot if he blocks testimony.

An all out attack on Bolton from the president and right wingnuts. This guy was their posterchild. The only thing that changed is the allegation against our coward scumbag president.

We have Trump/Giuliani against Bolton/Kelly. Who would you believe?  :)

Actually (unless something changed since last night,) at this point it's "anonymous sources"/NYT writers  against Trump/Giuliani/Barr

I'm old enough to remember when Democrats salivated at the idea of Trump winning the nomination.

I'm old enough to remember when Democrats salivated at the idea of Trump winning the nomination.

I see people making this comparison a lot. I disagree.

Trump was (and still is) far LESS Conservative than the other contenders. He broke with traditional Right-wing philosophy on many issues. A massive part of the Republican electorate were sick and tired of the Left cr@pping on America day in and day out and their cohorts in the media leading the way. They were equally sick and tired of milquetoast Republicans Kowtowing to the Left every time the media said "boo" (a la Mitt Romney). So despite the fact that Trump is closer to the center, and a loony man who is not exactly known for his own Conservative values, they wanted him.

Trump fans largely hid the fact that they were voting for him for fear of repercussions by the demented Left-wing media . On election day they came out in droves from every cave to vote for him.  Pollsters came up speechless after 2016. There is a solid chance that whatever the poll numbers show for Trump, it's likely to be 15% higher.

Bernie is far MORE Left than the other contenders. He takes all the Left's positions to an EXTREME. He has no connection to the center. Bernie fans are NOT hiding the fact that they support him. They are not facing persecution for supporting him, and they are very outspoken about it. What you see in the polls are probably within the margin of error of his support. His base is the FAR LEFT. Sure, he will pull a large amount of other Democrats who hate Trump, but they will come out to the extent they came out for Clinton.

I will note that certain things can change the landscape of this election. If the economy turns sour, it can vastly diminish Trump's chances of winning.

Not a wish, but a prediction.
