Topic Wiki

Mail the ticket and the muni meter receipt.  No additional explanation is needed.  The ticket will be dismissed.
A mini meter receipt paid for up to 5 minutes after the ticket is issued is good.
If your ticket is more than 5 minutes old, look around/ wait around for someone going into their car and ask them for their receipt - if it covers the time of  your ticket.

Post your Muni-Meter tickets here so people can fight their tickets

Wow!

Talk about a terrible argument.

"Wait, why do we have to pay taxes? Just because the city wants to make money?"

Oh my. I though he was being sarcastic. Wow.

How about throwing garbage out the car window since if you're parked there during street cleaning it will be a 45 dollar ticket....

If the OP bought a ticket, then I have no problem with the purpose of the thread. But if someone didn't pay for parking and wants to use someone else's receipt to get out of a parking ticket, is that not straight up gneiva? Should DDF even allow this thread to exist?
This is a גונב מן הגנב situation

Some people are just unbelievable.

This is not a one way street, the traffic agents give out bogus tickets, and they do it all the time, anyone that drive or has a car in New York City is a victim, and there's no fighting back, you cant win.

What motivated me to place receipts on ticketed cars, was that i put two quarters in a meter and then I get a receipt, I did not have time to run around the corner to another meter, when I came back and saw a ticket on my windshield, i declared war.
there is no one to talk to in the city.

Than comes these little tzadikim in pajamas who browse the internet all day looking for a place to stop the nonsense.........  I think I'll stop right here

Can't you just take a picture of the receipt on someone else's windshield after you see the ticket?
This should work.

This should work.
Has worked like a charm (although I'm usually more comfortable getting a physical ticket and physically mailing it in, for no real reason).
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

I think there's even a gmach in Flatbush for them. You call up and they tell you if they have it.

Are you the same guy who bashed Dan in the Ami for posting price mistakes?

Unbelievable how board people are! Or maybe people or just not smart enough.

Or perhaps you don't have a car in NYC. What's the Chutzpah of these crazy parking fines in NYC?  What's the Chutzpah of the alternate side parking Geziereh? Which other cities have it? Really? NYC cares for clean streets? Ive never seen such a dirty city in my life. I go to cities in Europe with no alternate side parking and you can lick the streets.

And my main question to our corrupted city is as follows why do I see traffic cops on every block running around like poisoned mice writing out tickets? Why is the only time i have a chance to see a police car is him hiding in an edge waiting to catch someone speeding? WHY DON'T I SEE FOR EVERY TRAFFIC COP WRITING TICKETS, A COP JUST WALKING AROUND THE STREETS PROTECTING US? WHY? WHY DON'T I SEE FOR EVERY POLICE CAR HIDING TO FIND SOMEONE SPEEDING, A POLICE CAR DRIVING AROUND AND PROTECTING US.

IF THE CITY WOULD DO THESE TRAFFIC RULES FOR OUR FAVOR THEY WOULD PUT AT LEAST THE SAME AMOUNT OF COPS TO PROTECT THE STREETS AND MAKE US LIVE SAFER.
