We were denied boarding on our connecting flight from Malta to tel aviv. We are stuck in Istanbul. What are our rights? What should we be doing? We are at the transfer desk now trying to get on a new flight. Our first leg was delayed so they sold our seats.

If the flights were booked as 1 initiniery its their job to get you to TLV.

We got on the next flight and won't give us any compensation since they said we have assigned seats we weren't denied boarding. Any facts I should know about my right s?

Way false leading title. You are not stuck, you are getting on the next flight. Happens to everyone at one time or another.

Now if you lost your passport, money, wallet, etc , THEN, and only THEN, are you possibly stuck.

We WERE stuck at time of posting. We finally got put on next flight which will leave Istanbul at midnight. Couple more hours to kill here.

you have to understand, someone that 2 hours connection in IST is a lot, what do you expect when he finds out his flight is cancelled?... Probably looking around from where the terrorist is gonna approach him...

Lol that was the least if my worries. Just wanted to get home. After visiting 4 different Turkish counters and waiting for a long time wasn't sure we were going to get home anytime soon

Stuck has a connotation of more permanent than waiting for a new flight.

Yeah - if we thought we were going to be put on the next flight. We weren't sure if there was even room and they were super unhelpful / unwilling to help. Sort of like most of the responses this thread!
