This as actually amazing. Besides the $50 credit it also gives you united miles plus united bonus miles. So if I understood correctly If you use amex gold to purchase amazon gift card you will get 3x points on amex plus 1.25 points on united so no need to run to staples to use ink when I can do it instantly for my computer for a bit less points. It is also a great way to extend the life on united account.

Yup. Though the charge posted yesterday and it says mileage x Amazon, but in the description it says united airlines special ticket..or something like that.
