Dan - I don't think AJ is completely off base here.

As a traveler, I'm not a fan of Smisek. I live 10 minutes from EWR but don't fly United. I view him as the same villain that you do. As an investor, I wouldn't have invested in Smisek, but I don't view him as a villain. UA hasn't done too well compared to its competition since Smisek took over. However, domestic airlines have been trending to put lower values on FFPs. I believe most of the decisions he made mentioned in your post were made in the company's best interests.

The way you start cursing right away isn't the best and I think that's something we would agree on as well. I doubt you speak like that in real life. Look at my past posts and I don't think you'll find a thread in which I use profanity either. To me, that says something about the nature of this debate (as well as the nature of the person himself).

Now this is an example of a rational post. As I mentioned, I don't like him and I'm quite happy he's leaving. I might even post celebration emojis or tell my friends the good news. But I don't actually hate him the way people here are posting, and I certainly don't think he's an evil villain.

That's it. I'm not quite sure what's the big deal with staring that. I know Dan seems to really loathe him and people join him in that sentiment agter reading his posts about him but after everything is said and done he's not the devil. He's simply a businessman.
