search on google flights - it will show $1944 than choose cheapoair the price should go down to $1800

This is an excellent deal... except for the part where you have to fly from Toronto, and the part where you have to deal with CheapoAir.

I'd rather do DL from YYZ for the same price (very limited dates last I checked). Loads of SkyTeam dates available, but not NS.

When traveling with kids, I'd much sooner fly Y direct than J with a stop (unless I can tour the stop over city)

You have 2 non stops with DL, you just have to make another round NYC-YYZ with 4.5k Avios or $68 with TAM
