Just out of curiosity, why would one need this? Do iphone/ipads support 3rd party devices that you'd want to connect via cable instead of wifi (like external storage)?

I carry an iPad for my work, but have an Android phone. For me, having these adapters means that I can charge either device no matter which charger I have on hand.
Also, now that I think of it, the iPad keyboard my company supplied does require a micro USB to charge.
I have a couple of the Micro USB-to-Lightning adapters, but not seen this Lightning to Micro USB. I'll have to pick one up! Thanks OP.
