Every model is probably different. Google the model number to find the manual.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Is that what you normally do?
I did a quick google and there was tons of info.

It is to late to get me started on this. I am having kosher switch flashbacks.  :)

Ours that we just got this week (thanks Discover for 40% off at Sears!) turns on by holding the down and plus button at the same time for 5-10 seconds but search for your model and RTFM for better results.

We really need to start a loophole master thread.

This has nothing to do with the treifa switch. This is not a way of using a loophole to do something otherwise forbidden, but a way of getting around problems preventing doing things which are generally allowed.

Yes it does. According to the Star-K and therefore you are only allowed to open it once to take out all the food and then it is considerd psik reishei dlo nicha lei

https://www.star-k.org/articles/articles/kosher-appliances/appliance-memos/2048/oven-use-on-shabbos/
According to Rabbi Moshe Heinemann, STAR-K’s Rabbinic Administrator, a thermostatically controlled oven that is on during Shabbos (as opposed to one programmed to shut off via Time Bake) may be opened one time and all the food must be removed from the oven at that time. The oven may not be accessed again during the remainder of Shabbos.

Thanks! Am I understanding () correctly?
If it’s programmed to shut off via time bake then it’s okay to open 2x while on?

The issue can be avoided if you only open it while the oven is on (assuming the glow is visible from the outside).

-1, at least for gas ovens. The glow is the igniter (which stays on as long as the fire is on in most modern ovens), not the flame - which is blue, not orange. It'll be on for a few seconds before the flame actually lights. Listen for the hiss of the gas instead.

If the igniter has gone on already then you wouldn't be triggering anything by opening the door, no?

Why is this any different then a fridge. And if the issue is bishul why does it make a difference if the fire is on or not?

A fridge would only be an issur derabonon if the compressor turns on the issue with an oven is Mavir lighting a fire not Bishul. If food is not fully cooked then you are not allowed to close oven door even if the fire stayed on.
Fridges that have a heating element for the defrost need to be on Shabbos mode as it takes away any chashash of isuur deoreisa
