DANSDEALS CALENDAR LINK

The purpose of this calendar is to collect deals that are date-based (i.e. applicable during a specific time, ending at a specific date, etc) and put them into one nice neat calendar for everyone's convenience.

This makes more sense and is more consistent than ddfcalendar.

Now you can bookmark it and visit often (or add it to your own Google Calendar)

Maybe you could have them require your (or a mod)'s approval before they get posted on the calendar.

I would put an About section on the side of the calendar explaining what this is, and also include a link to the submit event form.

Maybe you want a link to the Submit Event form on the right side of the home page? There's a lot of stuff over there that doesn't serve any purpose (yet). EG: I would hide the Categories widget until you have categories in it...
