Those new problems that from time to time keep showing up happens when someone experiments with a site, without trying it out, on an exact replica. To see its results first.
I would even suggest an automated backup.
And when an experiment turns sour, you can just restore it to the 'matsav' prior to the mistake, instead of, hey, I guess we need to upgrade...
