My route and timing worked out perfectly, especially because I slept at the LM Pyramids which is only 2 minutes away from the Pyramids so I didn't have to drive through the crazy Cairo traffic to get to the Pyramids. I then worked my way back - Museum, Old Cairo/Shul then back to the airport.
Would u change your schedule around because you wrote that it was hasy in the morning by the pyramid.  Did u feel pressured or there was enough time for all that u did? And what's with the ibe mamoin synagogue (rambam)?

Yes, try to go to the Pyramids after 11am.
Didn't feel pressured at all.
I don't know, but legend has it that the Rambam davened in the Ben Ezra Shul.

I have a 17 hour stopover in CAI.
Does Egyptair offer free hotels? I read on FT that they do, just wondering if anyone here did it.
Also how much does visa on arrival cost?

Visa is $25, you buy it from the banks in the airport.
I stayed at the LE meridian in the airport and they have me a giant suite as a platinum upgrade.
And there's a bridge in to the airport so you don't need to go outside or take any shuttles.

Thanks, interesting that SPG recognized plat status on a (presumably) third party booking.
Did you earn points/Elite night stay credit?
Just to clarify Egyptair booked you the LE? I'm specifically asking about their free hotels on stopovers deal

Didn't realize the Hilton Taba is leaving the chain also. A bigger loss than the Queen of Sheba IMO.
Was a phenomenal cat 1 option.

That wasn't a Hilton taba bombing. It was a tourist bus bombing.
