I just got an offer from them, I'm a little worried cause I inflated my current salary by about 10%. Does anyone know when AIG does background checks if they verify income somehow?

you applied for a job and when they asked your current salary you inflated it hoping for a larger pay raise?  or was it something else, like a loan?
If so, then I don't think it's an issue as far as the background check goes. Most places ask what salary your looking for anyway, doesn't necessarily need to tie to current income.

They probably do background checks but won't be able to verify previous salary.

IME most places do ask for a paystub or W2. Background check usually just verifies employment status and title. What position was this for?

yeah from what I hear they just verify dates of employment. They can't verify income without you providing your W2 or if they use theworknumber.com they would need to provide a unique salary key code which would allow them to see your income.

Even in the unlikely case they (are able to) verify, 10% could be explained as value of benefits.

My current employer asked my previous employer (both frum people) how much I was getting paid, and got an exact answer, then made me an offer based on that. Extremely unprofessional on the part of both of them.

Better. Both consider themselves honest people. The former is someone I worked for loyally for nine years, who laid me off because his business was winding down.

Neither. DDF moderation is an unpaid gig. DDMS moderation OTOH....

Depending if you signed a release on the background check form. Many larger employers and 3rd party firms that do background checks WILL contact a previous employer to verify salary.
