So I earned 50K TY bank bonus and then transferred the TY points to my CC TY point account. I was not careful and points were then taken away after 60 days of closing bank account. I wrote a letter to executive office and after investigation points were returned but whoa what a roller coaster

What's the address to the executive office ? I had the same issue a while ago, and never managed to get someone to reinsate the points.

Just got this offer in the mail. It says:

When you open a checking account in another eligible banking package, you may qualify to earn a bonus at a higher or reduced level. The bonus miles credited will be based on the account package at the time of qualification.

It sounds like I should be able to open a gold or priority account and downgrade as soon as I meet the requirements, while I wait for the bonus to post. Am I reading it right? Has anyone else tried this?

I called them up and was told I would definitely lose the promotion if I converted the account. But I couldn't get a satisfactory explanation of the above quote.

Nope. they no longer charge a fee for citigold, if you have under 200k they'll just convert your account.

Not sure what you're getting at. Are you saying the rep was wrong? I'd rather not take the chance for an extra 20%. And I signed up for Priority already.

Targeted as well for aa miles. Seems to me that I would end up paying $150 for the 50k points.

My cheshban —— $30 monthly service fee (if avg balance is less than $50k) x 5 months = $150

Of the 5 months above: 2 came from the required “qualifying bill payments” and 3 is from the 90 days it takes for bonus miles to be credited to actual account.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, as I would like to do this offer.

In the fine print they don’t mention it only starts from month #3. It just says that a monthly fee is applied to accounts when a balance of $50k is not maintained.
