Update: As of 2/9/2016, credit card can no longer be used as a funding source.

For AA bonus it is very important that you have either the Citi AA plat or executive card first, as the bonus offer is only offered to cardholders, and they get your AA number from those cards.
Similarly for TY points bonus requires a TY Citi credit card.

It took about 3.5 months for me and I didn't get any charge.
+1
I just did it recently, it took over 3 months and i wasn't charged.
If it benefits even just one fellow DDFer, its worth posting it.

do you mean that the entire process from opening a bank acct until you received the actual AA miles was only 3-3.5 months?

and they didn't charge you anything despite NOT having $50k as balance for all that time, despite it being contrary to the fine print of offer?

i assume you closed bank accounts IMMEDIATELY after receiving miles?

Thank you

how strict is Citi when counting 60 days from acct opening for bonus offers?

I signed up for the Citigold 60K offer (acct opened on Nov 1) which required "1 or more qualifying bill payments for 2 consecutive months within 60 days after acct opening". However I forgot to do this in November and day 60 is Dec 31.

did I miss out on this offer or can it still be salvaged?
