It's basically my OP plus updates...There was a nice amount of interest so I made it easier to find the right info.
Don't get me wrong wasn't making fun of it
was weirdly impressed...

For those planning to write reviews. You are not allowed to write that you received it for a discount or free. https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201929730
I just recently got an email from I-orange regarding products I reviewed for them stating the same! I thought it meant they weren't happy with my review! (have no clue why) Or if they were serious about the new amazon policy! )i guess that's an answer! Thanks

Btw, although I purchased this when it first became available, and posted a raving review on Amazon, I just wanted to say that I am still loving it and have bought another pack at full price. They look great and work amazing and I was confident putting them into my $3000 Seforim Shank. I even ask kids when they come over if they could figure out how to open the doors and they look in amazement for the keyhole! Great job and it definatly deserves the support it's getting.

On Amazon, you can update your review and add some of that.

Just a question for those who have been using these for a while.
How do you find these locks that require a key?
One person previously mentioned about only having 1 spare hand to get the item from the closet.
My other concern is it makes the simple process of retrieving something from the closet, a 3 step process.
1: getting the key (that may be stored on the other side of the kitchen).
2: placing the key in the right place and opening the closet with your other hand.
3: returning the key to the right place.
For this reason, ive been using the simple cheap plastic hooks.

Im not looking to C"V bash the product, I would just like to hear from others how these compare to the simple hooks.

I can understand your concern - it does require more steps, but you get used to it.
That being said, the same way its a bit more "complicated" for you, it's more complicated for your child = way safer.
My kid figured out how to open the simple hooks - he hasn't (yet) been able to figure out how to do these

+1 mine found the key and was poking it around trying to open it but couldn't figure it out. He then lost the key. Good thing I have more.

Even once they realize to use the key to open it, they will have to remember exactly where on the cabinet to put the key. There's no obvious way to tell by looking at it.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Thanks.
So it seems the answer is it depends on the age of your kids.
My kids are not even tall enough yet to reach to tops of the closets, but I guess once they are and they outsmart the basic locks I will have to upgrade to these.

It didn't find it so complicating to find the key. It stays on the stove doesn't stick out. And you get used to it pretty fast. When you know your going to that cabinet you just get the key first

You can keep it on the fridge too. Or stick the included magnet somewhere convenient, and keep the key on that.

I use the locks for my Seforim, and my Shabbos silverware. On Shabbos I flip the switch on that lock to disable it so I have easy access. My little kids don't even realize because the rest of the week it's locked and you can't see a difference from outside.
