So I booked this dream trip with my wife to Italy during the $250 round-trip sale a couple of months ago, going to Milan March 1-8. Unfortunately we will not be able to go due to health reasons. I was wondering if there is any way I could get my money back, or change the dates so that we could go a different time. Thankfully, I didn't book any hotels, car, etc, so we're only talking airfare ($502).
It's too late to buy travel insurance, and in any case it's a pre-existing condition, so that won't help me anyways. Do you think I would be able to get Iberia to refund the ticket, or at lease let me change the date to a couple of months from now? Or would they let me transfer the ticket to someone else? I'm sure that there are enough people here on the forum that would like to go instead of me...
I booked with an Amex gold, but they told me that there's nothing they could do on their end...
