How do bloggers fly on First Class almost every other week?
« on: October 10, 2015, 07:31:55 PM »
I never under stood this, but How do bloggers mainly Ben Shlapig from onemileatatime.boardingarea.com, The Points Guy and kellydaoud.com fly on First class every other week? there is a certain amount of credit cards that one can open and even if their family members  give them points that would not be enough to fly almost every other week on First class.

Ben and Brian clearly say they buy the points for their trips.

That's how many trips?
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

As I said those were only Dan's UR points... (He also hints in the comments that his United balance is even more than that)
And by the time it takes to spend all those points/miles there's plenty time to refill.

Lol, you guys can just ask if you want ;)
Rough guesstimates, but altogether I have approx 20MM miles and have probably spent about 7MM lifetime.

Guys like Ben, Brian, and Daraius are much newer to the game and play it very differently than I do. And their blogs are far more mainstream and in the media.

Are you saying that they have more? I never thought these guys were in your league. I figured maybe their sites are more profitable and they just pay...

Dan does not travel as much as they do and as Dan stated he was in the game longer, probably started collecting points before them.

They don't churn/MS.
They just buy the miles.

And their sites are definitely better commercially, just look at the bank agreements they have. C'est la vie, I'll enjoy things while they last.

Are you still MSing the way you were at your peak? And how many of those points are from signup bonuses, from MS, from airline promotions, and from milage runs, respectively? (You said we could ask, so I figured I'd push my luck. )

Wouldn't it make more sense to just buy revenue tickets sometimes ?

I don't read his blog, but already a couple years ago he wasn't writing most of the posts there.

Not even close. Buying AS and other stuff is way cheaper.
