With UA 1k status what are chances of scoring an upgrade on the tlv-ewr routes?

Would it be complementary or require partial miles/cash?

Tia

The status doesn't grant upgrades. GPU's can be used. Rarely available on direct flights. Many availability with stops but you'll only be upgraded on EWR Europe segment. Ticket must be purchased on w class or higher to be eligible.
You can be wait-listed on direct flights and have a last minute chance. I've been successful midweek.

See this thread for some availability:

I've been 2/2 with GPUs EWR-TLV 0/2 TLV -EWR (both red eyes) . Relatively small sample size though

Yes.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Any ideas how to get around the no complimentary upgrade for premier gold during the challenge time? (got a status challenge).
It's not automatic and the agents claim they can't do it manually, they have no clue why it's not working (I do) but they don't have access.

Bought 5 United tickets + infant NYC to LON with Amex Points a month ago when it was pricey for $405, Now I really have to change the date 1 Day earlier, any possible way to get it done for no charge?

Amex asks for Change Fee + current pricing..

Other than not getting elite-qualifying credit, any reason not to book Basic Economy to save $30 on a 70-minute flight? I have a United card, so I'd get the free full-size carry-on. First time thinking about Basic Economy. Thanks.

Not able to pick seat, can't confirm if you'll get seats together. No changes for any reason.

What are the chances that an RPU will clear for EWR<=>HNL in August? Waste of time looking for one?
