Flying during pregnancy
« on: October 14, 2015, 09:14:07 PM »
I'm looking for some anecdotal non-scientific evidence about flying while pregnant.

Has anyone here (or their wives) done it? At what stage in the pregnancy? Did it have any effect on the fetus? (i.e. if you flew with one child while pregnant but not your other children, do you notice any difference that could be related to the radiation you're exposed to in the air)

Hmm, I never heard someone say that there child behaves like that because the mother flew while she was expecting, my wife flew while in the 3rd month to Israel with one child and YVR with another in the 6th month. hey I would never know how they would behave if she didn't fly!

My wife and I flew when she was in the last week of her 8th month, and then again in the first week of her ninth. She went to the Dr. before who gave us the go ahead. Nothing happened other my wife being very nervous during takeoff and landing!  :)

I don't think there is a concern about flying affecting the pregnancy, just a concern that if she goes into labor while they are in flight it would be a problem.

We flew to Israel when my wife was in her fourth month. Doctor just told her to make sure she walks around every hour or two.

I should hope not. Dan is male.

I did, it's a nice way to take the edge off so you don't get all the "don't take advice from someone on the internet" people

Wife flew three months in to Israel and flew less than a month before having the kid. Also had a few flights in between and all was well.
