I got the BA tickets from JFK to London through this promo and just realized that my flight back is from London City and stops in Shannon. It's weird because when I booked it, it wasn't obvious that there was a stop. Does anyone have any experience with trying to change such a flight with BA? Looks like my flight is a lot more booked than the direct Heathrow flight a few minutes later. Any insight?

I would keep that flight. It is an interesting one. Go through US Customs in Shannon and land in domestic terminal JFK

Oh interesting. But the downsides are I will have two kids and it looks like business class on this flight doesn't have lie flat seats like the Heathrow flight has. What do you think if those are factors?

Also, with such a short stop, there's enough time to go through customs? I think the stop is about an hour.

The seats are lie-flat per seat guru.

There are 2 daily flights with this route.
I remember reading that only the earlier one clears US immigration and customs in Ireland.

Correct. The early flight (BA001) clears customs in SNN. Usually by the time you  clear customs the plane is ready to board again. It definitely is an interesting flight to try. Some trivia, the LCY flights inherited the Concorde flight numbers (BA1, 2, 3 & 4), so it's kind of cool to fly on BA1.

The seats are fully lie-flat and better than the regular BA J seats.

Surprised. No complete direct aisle access and seats aren't as big IIRC

The US State Department issued a worldwide travel warning. My trip is coming up soon. Should I cancel? Are you?

Considering I work in midtown, is it much safer than London?

+1

My sentiments exactly. I'm doing London 12/26-12/29.
