- Wow, a Shul still standing!?
My guide told me that there is actually another shul that is still in use everyday, but it was very far so I didn't go.
Nice read. There are no direct flights to tel aviv from Cairo?
There is 1 daily flight, but it's early in the day and pain to book.
Great TR! Thanks... Brought back good memories!!
I see you only took the camel ride after the pyramid's... How did you get to the pyramid's once you were dropped off? Did you walk?
We drove right up to the Great Pyramid, walked around, and then drove to the next one. There's a dirt road in front of them.
Thanks, nice trip report! Fat chance, but was there any Judaica in the Egypt Museum, e.g. stuff from the Cairo Geniza?
Non at all.
Great report, short and sweet (like mine!).
Regarding the haze, thanks for the tip. If I ever make it there I'll make sure to go before 10. I think the pyramids look awesome in your shots, the haze gives it that real "mirage in the desert" feel. Very mysterious.
You have comforted me
Great TR! Good to see someone else going, and (barely) having trouble with visa. We got a lot of pics inside egypt muesem using GoPro
For the sake of asking, how was the interaction with locals (if you had any, you were a real in-n-out) did you get any opinions out of them? In sharm, we had them all give us the liberal, anti-terrorist stuff, which was good to hear...
While they are an ancient wonder (no matter who built them...) you basically go and take pictures. Not really all that dif from other tourist traps
The only thing they all said was how tourism in Egypt is dead since 2011 and they are trying to show the world that Egypt is safe again and come visit.
