Anybody have any suggestions, or know of a good deal for men's puffer down coats, that keeps one warm during the winter ? I'm willing to spend in the $100 range, or lower.

You will not find a good quality real down coat that will last in that price range.

It doesn't have to be real down, just one that keeps a person warm, unlike the wool coats that never seem to work. BTW how much do real ones go for ?

In my experience, you will need to spend over $300, although you might be able to get some on sale. Also you should know that down alternative loses its warmth over time so maybe invest in a good coat to use over the years?

Buy one from Eddie Bauer. They have a great return policy.

IME you can find in Marshall's/TJ Maxx light down for $80-$100. I found a medium down (700 fill) for $100 a couple weeks back.

I've had my Eddie Bauer Parka since 1996. The hood came apart about 10 years ago, and IIRC, they would only give me pennies on the dollar for a return, since I didn't have my receipt. So, I kept the jacket...still going strong.
