You should have the right to be rebooked on another airline, or eligible for 3100 ILS under the Israeli aviation law.

What is the best way to contact Turkish air?  I have called customer service and filed several feedback requests.  Need to have the dob modified to be in European format. I entered in US format. Not getting any resolutions

thanks for your reply...(recall issue is cancellation of return flight ist/ewr.)  this ticket (jfk/ist/tlv,tlv/ist/ewr) was bought by EXPLORE (unpub) in NY....is Turkish bound by Israel Aviation law.....any hard facts for me to cite to Turkish.

next question...are they responsible for incidental losses like hotel overstay , food etc

finally, at what point do i tell them that the rebooking they offer is not acceptable

Any flight going to Israel is bound by the aviation law.
Are you looking to get rebooked on a better flight or looking for compensation?

It doesn’t really work that way. They may rebook you on another airline to save themselves from the compensation. Not just a free ticket on any airline whenever you want.
If you really want to go a week later, they’d be happy to rebook you on Turkish for that date.

 little confused....if  Israel  Aviation law is that TK must pay penalty 3000 ILS in this case, is it my right to choose  cancellation of the TK ticket and for them to pay me that  penalty and as for the return I will handle on my own.....or am I missing something....please put me in place

You can obviously book your own ticket on whatever airline you want.
AFAIK, the compensation is only is you actually took the flight that was delayed. If you choose to refund your ticket, you won’t get the compensation.
Knowing that you’re entitled to compensation if you take the flight can incentivize the airline to rebook you on another airline even if it’s more expensive than your ticket, so you get to your destination at the time you were supposed to, and not be entitled to the compensation.
