Uch, this sounds so weird. One of my favorite things about LH F was that I was treated as a king but I never felt awkward.

I am re-reading it now and see how it may have come across. The way they present their hospitality though, makes it not awkward at all.

People who speak to me at eye level freak me out. It's a very rare occurrence ;D

I've had the chance to recently experience JL F, NH F, and KE F, and i'm a bit puzzled that the consensus is to rank JL / NH F well ahead of KE F. It might just be my taste, but i thought the KE F was superior to both of the Japanese products. and more important, JL was much better than NH. to be more specific:

Hard Product - KE > JL > NH.   I just really enjoyed KE spacious seats, Open concept and unrestricted legrrom,  To be clear, JL was pretty good as well, but NH was just uncomfortable and felt very claustrophobic. if i had to rate on a scale of 10, i would rate KE 8, JL 6, and NH 2?

Design - KE > JL > NH.   I just loved the fresh and modern design of KE. everything from airport (ICN Airport is my new favorite. it just looks like something from a futuristic movie), lounge, plain, FA outfits. where as the JL / NH products seem something of the past in comparison. Again, NH design and even outfits seem like something from 80s.

Lounge - KE > JL > NH.   Again, the KE and JL experiences were somewhat similar i felt. Their lounges seem modern and and comfortable, but the private large cocoons gave KE a slight edge i thought. NH in comparison, is just light years behind. their F lounge in NRT is just an embarrassment. small, crowded, terrible design and even worse in comfort. i mean i was so underwhelmed. those chairs, urgh, seemed like something from a 3rd world country.

Soft Product / Service - NH > JL > KE, only redeeming quality for NH. though the difference between the 3 was very small or negligible. it might just be the specific crews that we encountered, so hard to rate service based on just one experience, but the NH FAs were just super accommodating.

Food - all equal - I won't really rate here, as i'm very picky with food, and didn't feel like i could differentiate the 3 much. I dont really drink, and can't really eat any of the Japanese or Korean dishes. the intl menu, wasn't really memorable in either case. so..

overall, i flew 7 F products, and would rate as follows:

CX
KE
EK
JL
NH

AA
UA

just my 2 cents

It's impossible to respond to that without including the exact plane types and routes you flew.

JFK-NRT JL
NRT-JFK NH
HAN-ICN KE

777-300ER on all 3.

KE was the only one that wasn't long haul, but i slept like a babe on the flight and experienced enough of it, that if anything, the long haul experience would be even better in my opinion.
I understand that a lot of it is very subjective, and i can understand maybe rating JL and KE on the same level, but NH hard product / lounge experience, design, was just so inferior that i don't think the service alone can overcome.

Wow!
TRs please.

Nothing special to report other than I earned 18k UA miles on that LX F trip.
EWR-ZRH-PEK

Booked EWR-FRA-PEK with Aeroplan on LH F.
LH union announced strike on day of my flight (April this year), so LH rebooked me LX F on a revenue ticket.
Love me or hate me. I still love you.

Neither EY or QR give anything close to a real F experience.
So what would you include in a "real F experience?" Just SQ, CX and EK?
EY is not real F?
If EY and QR are not "real," (I'd disagree), then EK isn't either.

On that train of logic, it's Asian or bust (something with which I also disagree).

The major factors are:

-Hard product
-Service
-Hard Product bonus perks like a shower
-Food
-Booze
-Lounges

Random thoughts:
-US airlines F is dead due to poor service.
-The ME3 don't have consistently good service, though I found EK to be better than the rest. Service is a huge part of the F experience and bad service will kill the whole thing.
-Asian airlines like JL, NH, and SQ have out of this world service. CX service can be more robotic and less warm than the rest of the Asia carriers.
-SQ suites are a step above the rest for privacy and the new suites look amazing.
-CX has by far the most comfortable bed, bedding, and seat.
-EY's seat and bed are spacious, but not particularly comfortable. Seat recline is also poor.
-EYs shower room is tiny and dingy. Its' not nearly as enjoyable as the EK shower spa which is much larger and feels more like a Park Hyatt than a Holiday Inn.
-You won't find food and champagne/wine reviews here, so look to FT if that's important.
-Lounges like LH FCT are nice to try out, but in the end of the day I can lounge at my home as well. It's not what makes or breaks the product.
Crossposting here.

-SQ suites are a step above the rest for privacy and the new suites look amazing.

Main issue with SQ is the hard bed. That is after they add a mattress pad on top of it, to make it softer. 9W, CX, JL, QF all have far superior beds.

The new SQ suites, does not seem to have fixed that issue. Still a hard bed and a seat with an awkward facing position during dining.

Here is a quote from OMAAT's TR:

Quote
The bed isn’t especially big, and isn’t soft. There are no individual air nozzles. The seat isn’t especially comfortable when lounging, and is awkwardly placed. You’re forced to face the aisle when you eat, and if you want to face the window, you can’t even sit especially comfortably, given the limited space in that direction.

Agreed.
Alas there is no perfect F option. But SQ/CX/JL/NH/EK will give you a good sense of the best it can be.

I could have sworn I had posted my list here before, is there a duplicate thread to this one?
