Not everyone needs it, but if you know that you like downtime you need to factor that and plan accordingly.

True. I scheduled the morning of our last day in HI as "downtime" for DW (since she loves chilling in the pool/beach). I was bored out of my mind.

I took it from your original layout that you were Yehoshua style. Guess that was a bad assumption

When I honeymooned in HI for a month we were pretty much running around every day and it was great. On later trips when we mostly relaxed it was great as well. Don't think either way is wrong, just depends on the scenario.
Once you're with kids it's much harder to pack things in or even do most of the activities.

Only up to Tuesday (who has time to read a Megillah everyday??) but what a detailed report! Thanks for taking the super long time to write it up.

After the club, we made our way outside to the beautiful grounds and pools. It was already dark, so it was actually hard to tell what was a pond or a pool, but just listening to the ocean and walking in the serene setting of the grounds was awesome. We passed by an area that had torches lit up around a Hawaiian dance performance and stopping for a minute really hit the Hawaiian spot.

Hah, I aspired to it (and was able to do it in Europe for the most part), but the jetlag really got us + my wife wanting to relax at pools/beach. I imagine it's harder with kids. We'll just have to play each trip by ear and definitely go back! (Although, I might need a new Psak.
