Just came back from buying a few sets, and the csr knew the whole game. He told me that he gets first dibs and that is why there are not many left. Incidentally, he told me that they are never getting the 300 gc in store, cuz the promotion would be too lucrative (makes no sense, cuz they could just exclude the 300 gc)

After those reports of OM not charging full price for $500 GCs last week I thought I'd stumbled across a similar situation and was hoping it would work for everyone.

Aren't store employees usually excluded from these promo's?

I'm pretty sure they exclude for this very reason. It's a conflict of interest.

+1 It doesn't take much to get fired from there. A guy was fired for selling a $50 shell gift card to me and hitting cash instead of credit, they had to cancel the transaction and lose $50.

Talking about hiding the cards .... I was in a Staples and they told me that they were out of them. 'Someone' shows up with a few of them. One of the workers asked him where he found those, since many people came looking for them. When on top of them, the person asked to split the transactions, they refused and only sold him 2 cards.

Btw all my receipts say *R and then promotion on the bottom but I got charged in full. It's funny though because I'm pretty sure that's a new thing it didn't say on previous receipts, I wonder what it means.

Yeah, I'm not sure. Looking back at old digital receipts from 2015 and a few scanned receipts from 2014 I don't see any Rs.
