I'm looking for suggestions on what is most optimal. This is the background, I have Diamond status with Hyatt and also Amex Platinum. I contacted SPG and applied for a status match to Platinum. I am planning a trip to Taipei around mid March and planning on staying at the new W. I'm hoping to get status and then free upgrade. Since this is first time I'm getting a SPG card, are there programs that I should sign up for to get bonuses or anything I can do to better my chances on getting upgrades. Thank you in advance.
