Topic Wiki

1. Some of our POM meals in HI were fantastic. And some that were great in the past were inedible. And some of are meals were wrong.
2. 48 pack cooler should fit 20-24 POM size meals. If they're frozen for a few days they'll stay frozen in the cooler for days with no ice needed.
3. Fill the Polar Bear with hot water in a tub and let it sit for a few minutes to expand it so it can fit more meals.

I bought the 48 pack that @Dan posted last week, link here

When it arrived, I saw that it looked different than one I had borrowed from @Something Fishy. That's when I realized instead of the clip that it normally has, there's a metal piece that just clips on to try to keep it down. Needless to say, I will be sending this one back.

I then Googled around a bit, and found a coupon from the original website for 25% off (code is 5150) and just bought it direct from them.

Interesting, but is there a practical difference?

Don't think I've used that buckle anyway as my food bag is always too full when I travel  ;D

What was the total cost with shipping direct?

I liked it when it was buckled. Was more of a rectangular shape which made it easier to travel with. My concern is this new type of buckle can very easily break.

Total cost was $120.12 including shipping.

Good to know. Guess I'll wait until the new one arrives before returning this one to see if they're shipping all them like this.

Why not ask them direct about the buckle before it arrives so you can refuse shipment? And tell them to update their pictures.

Its very strong the new buckle. Its actually better IMHO
you just clip it, then pull down to fasten the strap.

Seems to me that if anything you should be more concerned about the older plastic ones breaking.

Confirmed with them, all new ones have the metal piece. A real shame, I'd prefer the plastic buckle.

Correct, our new models have been upgraded to metal side buckles (rather than the plastic).  These also double as bottle openers.

So that's why they did it, saves a couple of pennies over the separate bottle opener they used to include.

The plastic one was very hard to close when the bag was totally full.

Can confirm this now. The item that came direct also has the metal buckle.

Poms, I think 6-7 with some extra room. Those coolers are pretty small.

None. No need for that if the food has been frozen for a few days.
