Topic Wiki

1. Some of our POM meals in HI were fantastic. And some that were great in the past were inedible. And some of are meals were wrong.
2. 48 pack cooler should fit 20-24 POM size meals. If they're frozen for a few days they'll stay frozen in the cooler for days with no ice needed.
3. Fill the Polar Bear with hot water in a tub and let it sit for a few minutes to expand it so it can fit more meals.

this might sound dumb but i own on of these and i feel like maybe im not using it correctly
i usually pack it up with frozen things but whenever i unpack whether a long or short trip most things are defrosted
am i supposed to be putting ice packs in there as well?
maybe the one i have isn't ideal for travel ?

would love some help now before summer season when i plan on using it

I think they say to place the cooler in the freezer wth the food for a day before, and to not leave any unfilled space. Make sure the zipper is fully closed and cooler is buckeled tight. https://polarbearcoolers.com/blogs/team-polar-bear/packing-your-polar-bear#:~:text=START%20COLD%3A%20When%20possible%2C%20chill,packing%20them%20into%20your%20cooler.&text=PACK%20IT%20FULL%3A%20Use%20a,the%20ice%20to%20melt%20faster.&text=ICE%20ON%20TOP%3A%20If%20possible,on%20top%20of%20your%20goods.

Food that’s been frozen solid beforehand will stay frozen for a few days in a Polar Bear suitcase without any ice. If you add ice packs in the suitcase it will stay frozen for few days longer. https://www.dansdeals.com/shopping-deals/coupons/today-48-pack-polar-bear-cooler-just-83-27-56-off-camping-world-ultimate-kosher-travel-tool/

If it's packed full of frozen food that's been frozen for several days, it will definitely last for 2 days even with no ice.

If it's too stiff, fill it with hot water in a bath and let it soak for 15 minutes to expand.
