I get your point now, but they are accepting everyone else's card so in my case it is just multiple cards instead of one card
They don't loose more one me that anyone else, correct?
No, (besides for transaction fee) but why does everyone doing it make it right?
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

? don't know, I am sitting on a stack of cards and the school wants to get paid so I am thinking of sending them a list of cards
Can there be any issue with this?
Just give them the cards and let them swipe

What is wrong with it? He owes money and they accept cc...  Why is it wrong?

It's not wrong. However, if you were donating money to tzedaka, would you use a credit card if you knew it cost them, or would you want every penny to go to tzedaka and not visa?

I am confused
It's 100% within your rights to do it, and i wouldn't look down on anyone for it, but i think that"lifnim meshuras hadin" it's better not to.

David Smith, some schools offer a discount if you pay it all on the spot with a cc...

I totally disagree with that, but even if true,  saying the words "not right" is totally inaccurate

It's called the cost of doing business. There is absolutely zero problem.

Precisely my point. A school is an organization, not a business.

Do they need to swipe these cards or can I just give the numbers and exp dates?
I know when I tried to add one card to EZ-Pass it didn't go through.

+1
Was once talking to the money man of an organization that I give to quite often, and he said exactly that. I told I still feel bad cuz it's costing them money, he said they are happy to get any money in any form. He also said I shouldn't feel bad using my card at all.

I agree with you 50 percent, some schools are organizations some are businesses (family businesses on top of that), but that is a completely separate discussion.

The question can be turned around as well why do they accept credit card? Especially if there is a processing fee. I know cases when certain schools encouraged parents who couldn't afford tuition charged to put it on a credit card. But again this leads us to a different albeit important discussion.

All said I am all for the schools (well some of them at least) and if I could just write a check for the whole amount I would. Although even then the school pays banking fees, so it would be better if I just show up with a suitcase of cash.

and the bigger the suitcase, the bigger Kovod you get. Phew I don't want to spoil innocent minds over here...

If the school cared,  they could just charge 2% for using cc,  like my kids school does
