Sports authority has shown some good deals in the past on black friday. And the meadowlands also has a yearly sale there but not sure when it is this year

if u live in ny/nj u gotta go to the giants/meadowlands stadium sale. thats where i got mine
looks like dates havent been announced. also the mt everest store is in paramus (or right next to it) so easy to get to for tuneup/repairs

Camelback has annual sale    I got a board and bindings for 100     (and just resold it for 90)     if u want better gear sports authority is having a decent sale now

I am a good skiier but I am not a maven on the actual gear. This would be in store I am figuring.. Are they helpful?

i doubt the stores have much in NY area      and your prob better off doing your own research than trusting a random dude in a ny SA

I would stay away from SA for something like skis. Go to Everest or one of the legit ski/sports stores. Better off spending a few extra $ for good support and knowledge. Don't forget how much skis cost total.

If ur worried about waiting tiill dec then if possible I'd rent  till then. Also first wk dec is early for east coast skiing.

I just bought online at rei.com they have some great stuff on sale, they accept returns (in store) for 120 days.
For example, I bought 4 pairs of boots, taking them in to the store next week for professional sizing and advice, returning 3 of them
