Seems like Germany is putting Covid into the history books as well.
Not my experience

This post is prescient, but with a plot twist.

How true!
I was just giving over the feeling I got, traveling through Germany exactly 24 hrs prior to the May-4 fiasco.

4 days in Hungary - Thur afternoon to Monday morning.
Family of 5, all very excited for opportunity to daven by REB SHAYALA. Was considering Thur/Fri in Budapest and spending Shabbos in Kerister and Sunday at other kevarim/jewish sights.
What is Shabbos like in Kerestir - a Bein Hazmanim Shabbos - if that matters(August 20). Is it leibadik (singing/kumsitz) or quiet (boring)? Heimish or do people keep to themselves?
We are not Chasidish.
I could also spend Shabbos in Budapest and spend Sunday by Kerestir area.
Thank you for any input

I wasn't there for Shabbos yet but no question Kerestir would make a beautiful warm shabbos. I'd definitely choose it over Budapest for shabbos. You can reserve a private house and there are two competing entities to order food from, both provide top gourmet food and very good priced too. Kerestir is a beautiful town nestled in the gorgeous Tokaj wine region so I'd guess there is nicer weather than Budapest. You might want to call in advance to make sure you get a kosher house. Paging @chff if he can provide phone numbers and insights.

I think there's more you can miss in kerestir than Budapest, although it's hard to predict exactly which kind of crowd you will get in a given week
