what do you guys think about google's new browser - chrome?
If you havent' already, it is definitely worth the download (free, of course)
it is noticeably quicker than firefox and IE and has spell check and lots of other great features

Pros;
*Neat interface.
*Innovative (and intuitive) design.
*Fast rendering (especially JavaScript).
*Loads very quickly.

Cons:
*Too much activity reported to Google.
* No plug-in support.
* Limited feature set.
*Resource intensive with multiple tabs (but FF and IE have this same issue).

don't forget that it doesn't support RSS feeds in the bookmark tab like FF does. All in all, its a good browser, but FF is more capable until more 3rd party development plugins are available.

why are you reporting activity to google? don't activate that feature.  i find that it is not nearly as cumbersome as firefox, loads quick and easy and ready access to the sites i visit.

I used it for about 10 minutes yesterday for the first time. Like everything Google does, it has a very clean UI - which I love. The fact that each tab runs in it's own process is genious. I personally use Avant Browser and swear by it, but many times while one page is loading and I try clicking on another tab, the program freezes up and I have to wait.

The first page I loaded with Chrome was www.foxnews.com and it was noticeably slower than any other time I've loaded it. It could be my Sprint card happened to choke just at that second...I guess I'll have to test it a little more.

Like I said about Android, everything Google does is awesome, and I'm sure in a few months once the kinks are ironed out, it will be the best browser out there for simple web browsing. FF will always be king if you need every add-on imaginable.

has anyone realized that the "new tab" button doesnt have a + any more and is in the shape of a leaf? or is that old news?

I have the 'Leaf' as well.

On another note, has anyone noticed that when you start typing in a site (say Da  it pops up asking if you want dansdeals.com?) then, a note appears on the far right of the search bar prompting you to press tab to search dansdeals.com!!

Pretty nifty!

Pressing Tab does this:

basically just integrating google search into address bar (along with your google web history)
bye-bye  privacy, hello google...
