B"h
I have reached the point in my life where I am sending my son off to yeshiva and I have no clue how I am can  to pay for it😢.
Does anyone have any experience? Secrets to share?
How much do you think I can realisticly expect the school to give me for a scholarship?
Thanks!
Whatever you do don't do big vacations with flying  f or j even if its all miles because people talk (my father is an ex director in a school that one thing he says)

Not from where I come from. Maybe it has greater effect on sheltered kids?
Oh please.

I was far from sheltered growing up and had many Jewish and non-Jewish friends in public school. I saw a dozens who would change their look and crowd every few months.

So you're saying- most of the kids youve seen grow up are not only the same as they were during high school, but the same as they were in 8th grade? ??? ??? ???

Don't look at sheltered as a bad thing.

What am saying is once kids hit HS you have a good idea which ones are going to give you trouble. Also them turning out as upstanding is not the job of schools.

But if the kids not looking good you'll send him to a good school in hopes of him turning out good. You wont send him to public school so he can continue on his path...

There are many types and levels of "upstanding"

Lets not lump all public schools together.

Or all Jewish schools, for that matter

My only issue with parents sending their kids to a frum school is the false sense that they are being raised correctly with less effort from parents themselves.

So what is the process to get scholarship money? What if you can't afford to pay what they say you should pay. Will your child be turned away?

I think a lot of answers depend on the community you live in and where you are sending him to Yeshiva.
But the general help would just be applying for scholarships and trying to work something out with the school.

Any school that I have dealt with acceptance was unrelated to tuition (I'm not saying the promise of full tuition has never helped anyone get accepted).... There is a faher process and once it's decided that you were accepted you are then told to speak with whoever is in charge of tuition

There are many people (called askanim) who work day and night to make sure all kids get into schools. If a school is turning your son away when it its impossible to pay much, you probably dont want to send your kid there anyways, because it means they have the wrong way of understanding what we are all about.
